About LTAP

About the Program

The National Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) was established in 1981 as the Rural Technical Assistance Program (RTAP). It is the primary way that the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) helps local transportation agencies learn about maintaining and improving their roads, innovative methods and materials, and ways to work smarter.

Contributing Agencies

AZ LTAP provides an annual membership option that allows local public agencies the opportunity to receive training at no additional cost to their agency. This membership fee is often paid for through an agency's Council of Government/Metropolitan Planning Organization. Click HERE for the list of Contributing Member Agencies.
