SF01 A License to Drive
Coastal       24 Minutes

Knowledge and awareness create the safe driver.  This program will provide information needed for the general knowledge test for CDLs.  The video will also provide a segment on air brakes.

SF02 Avoiding Electrical Hazards

"Keep your environment safe."  This video discusses how to be protected from electrical shock.  A clean and safe work area is the key.  Always pay close attention to the warning signs and their colors, they will let you know their purposes.

SF03 "Backing, You Owe it to Yourself"
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation       12 Minutes

Operators are responsible to know how to run the equipment they are assigned to.  This tape is designed to give operators better ideas on understanding why backing up safely is so important.  1 out of every 10 accidents at the work place is due to someone carelessly backing up.

SF04 Beat the Heat: Preventing and Treating Heat Disorders

This video discusses how heat stress is no laughing matter and more people need to know the severity of it.  Heat stress can cause bodily illness or injury, worksite accidents, and even death.  Topics covered are 1) thermo-regulations of the body, 2) importance of replenishing fluids, and 3) prevention and treatment of heat stress.

SF05 Boomlifts in Construction

Boomlifts are the most common used equipment on a construction site.  As with anything that becomes repetitive, it can get boring, this is when accidents will occur.  This video will provide your employees the proper training necessary to keep them safe. Topics covered; 1) lifting principles, 2) walk around inspections, 3) controls, 4) electricity, and 5) operation.

SF06 Breakaway Timber Utility Poles

This video discusses how to be a  mobile equipment operator.  It demonstrates how these mobile operators are able to run many different forms of equipment.  The video's main point is operators should always know the equipment and its limitations, practice proper inspections, fill out all necessary paper work, and just be a safe and knowledgeable operator.
SF07 Cave In! Trenching and Shoring Safety

This video deals with trenching and shoring safety.  Always take the proper precautions and stay compliant to OSHA's rules and regulations of proper trenching and shoring safety.  If not it can potentially kill someone. This video will cover: 1) classifying soils, 2) protective systems, and 3) excavation hazards.

SF08 Chainsaw Safety

This video will demonstrate the basic operational techniques of chainsaws.  This program was developed to help do a job safely and knowledgeable while operating chainsaws.   

SF09 Commercial Driver Certification

This video will discuss important topics related to getting a class CDL.  It is a good topic of review for new and seasoned drivers.  The video will give important information on a variety of different vehicle types.  It will also talk about double and triple trailers, passengers vehicles, and tanker vehicles.

This video will demonstrate when an air test is needed around the jobsites.  It also discusses what to do when the air is unsafe.

SF11 Confined Space Hotwork

This video discuss a checklist to safety.  It demonstrates how working in confined spaces are tricky, however when hot work is added the risk becomes greater.  This tape will ensure that workers know the proper precautions request for confined space hotwork.  It also talks about the hotwork permit, fire watch, and emergency rescue.

SF12 Confined Space Non-Entry Rescue

This video discusses the dangers of confined spaces and the responsibilities of the attendant as well as how to get someone out with out endangering ones self or others.  The program also discusses the written permit, and more about the retrieval system.

SF13 Confined Space Rescue

This tape uses OSHA confined rescue requirements.  It gets into the psychological aspects associated with confined space rescue.  It will also show how to get in teams so that employees will be trained to rescue people from confined spaces.

This video discussed special safety precautions required for confined space ventilation.  It will discuss 1) when to ventilate, 2) how to ventilate effectively, and 3) the safety precautions.

This video discusses knowing how to recognize and avoid electrical accidents which means escaping injury and possibly even death.  By following the safe work procedures in this video, employees will be able to protect themselves from electrical hazards on the job.  Topics covered: 1) Techniques for using equipment safety, 2) making the work environment safe, and 3) responding to an accident.

SF18 Construction Fall Protection

This video discusses how falls are the leading cause of deaths at construction sites. This video will demonstrate simple guidelines to follow that can help save workers lives.  Topics covered: 1) three types of personal fall protection systems, 2) equipment inspection and maintenance, and 3) rescue of fallen workers.

According to OSHA, 85 people die and 100,000 are injured every year in construction forklift accidents.  These accidents could be prevented with safe operating procedures and proper training.  This video will  demonstrate: 1) lifting principles, 2) start up walk around inspections,  3) moving a load, and 4) safe work practices.

This program will show steps on how to safely put this program to work for your organization by discussing how lockout/tagout systems work and when to use lockout/tagout procedures.

SF27 Drugs at Work

This tape discusses how drugs have become a way of life.  1 out of 10 people abuse alcohol, 1 out of 20 are addicted to illegal drugs.  Many people are affected by people that abuse drugs.  Within the work place drug abuse cost the U.S. economy 60 billion dollars a year.  This results in higher absenteeism, more accidents on the job, sick leave and medical costs.

SF28 Earthquake Awareness and Risk Reduction in Utah
Utah Department of Transportation       25 Minutes

This tape shows how Utah is trying to be prepared for earthquakes.  By looking at a seismographic chart on fault lines, Utah has a high chance of experiencing earthquakes in the near future.  They are trying to inform residents on what to do in case one hits and educating their employees on how to deal with the constant threat and what to do if one happens.

This video discusses how having professional attitudes will keep you alive.  Professional electrical workers are trained to know what to do in case of an electrical shock or fire.  This video will provide different ways to understand and to treat electrical shock, no matter how severe or mild they are.

This video will provide better safety principles of electrical safety.  Carelessness can cause injury or death to employees.  Safety is the responsibility of everyone in the work environment.  This mean practicing hazard observations and knowing how to correct potential problems. 

SF31 Engineering for Highway Safety

This tape evaluates seven different products for safety barrier installation some of the products are hydro crash cushions, grate guardrails, heck foam system, and attenuators.  These attenuator systems and hooked to the back of the last truck in the work zone.  This type of system can take the entire impact of a fast moving vehicle that has entered the workzone.  This may save the lives of the workers performing the jobs.

SF32 Fall Protection What's Required and Beyond

This video shows supervisors and employees various approaches to achieving 100% fall protection under the revised subpart M ruling.  As of February 6, 1995 fall protection is required whenever employees are potentially exposed to falls from 6 feet or greater.  Topics covered in video: 1) fall protection guidelines and 2) positive fall protection safety nets.

SF33 "The Forgiving Highway"
Federal Highway Administration       32 Minutes

This video is about highway barriers.  About 45,000 Americans are killed each year due to motor vehicle accidents which are caused by roadside obstacles.  Highway engineers are making roadways safer by getting rid of roadway obstacles such as putting signs overhead.  When this can't be done they are installing barriers so that cars will be shielded from these obstacles upon impact and be funneled down the barrier instead of being thrown back into track, or hitting the barrier.

SF34 Forklift Safety
Association of General Contractors       17 Minutes

This video will demonstrate good understanding of how to properly and safely operate a forklift.  It will discuss preventive maintenance guidelines that should be followed by all operators.  The video will also show reason and solutions to "why" accidents might happen.  

SF35 Guardrail Maintenance
Utah Department of Transportation       15 Minutes

Maintaining guardrails properly is very important.  This video will show the procedures to follow for proper guardrail maintenance.  In this program, first, it'll look at the components that make up guardrails and second it will demonstrate common maintenance procedures.

This video discusses the hazard communication standard.  This video will assist employees in understanding the dangers of working with and around chemicals.  It will demonstrate what to do in case of accidental spills.

SF37 Highway Safety Program
Federal Highway Administration       30 Minutes

This video discusses the silent factor and how important it is in the safety of our traffic system.  In 1992, 50,000 people died in traffic accidents.  With the enforcement of 55 mph speed limits more seat belt usage and tougher laws on drunk driving has lowered this number.  The Federal Highway Administration has provided guidelines for cities, counties and state agencies to receive federal funding for building roads.

Holiday Safety was developed to alert employees to holiday hazards in the home.  This video discusses Christmas trees, Christmas lights, decorations, fireplace safety, food preparation, alcohol and the holidays, holiday traveling, shopping safely, and holiday stress.

SF39 Inside Maneuvers

This video will discuss safe confined space entry.  Every year 1.5 million people work in confined spaces (tanks, vaults, pits, storage bins).  Many will be injured and some will die.  This program will demonstrate: 1) space hazards, 2) atmospheric testing, 3) other hazard controls, 4) confined space permit, 5) personal protective equipment, 6) communication, 7) rescue equipment, 8) team responsibilities, and 9) contractors.

The video discusses potential accidents to anyone operating heavy equipment.  Safety shouldn't be luck; this video demonstrates how to stay safe and not become the "other guy".

SF41 Mailboxes May be Hazardous to your Health
Texas Department of Highways and Public       14 Minutes

This video presents roadside examples of both safe and unsafe mailbox installations and provides guidance on how to erect safe installations.  Crash tests show conclusively that non-yielding mailbox designs are a hazard along the roadside and may cause death or serious injury to vehicle occupants.

SF42 Making Safer Roads
Insurance Institute for Highway Safety       12 Minutes

More than one in four motor vehicle deaths on roads don’t involve a collision with other vehicles they are caused by hitting roadside hazards such as trees, utility poles, or bridge supports.  This video will explain which hazards present the worst problems.  Then they will tell you how to alleviate the hazards.  This can not all be done at once, due to its costly, but through this tape you'll see allot of common sense approaches.

This video discusses motor vehicle accidents, and how they are the single largest cause of occupational fatalities.  It also talks about the common causes of vehicle accidents and will give safety tips to help employees avoid these accidents.

This video discusses safety on the job and how to recognize risks and stopping them before the happen.  The video will provide a multiple choice test to inform the employees how they might survive in the workplace with common hazards around all the time.

People seldom think of themselves as pedestrians.  1 out of 5 people get hurt while crossing busy streets.  People stand a 1 in 400 chance within their lives of being involved in a car-pedestrian related accident.  This video will demonstrate a good pedestrian plan called the 3 E's: engineering, education, and enforcement.

This video demonstrates how to stay safe when applying pesticide.  By wearing protective gear and handling chemicals safely, it can prevent accidental exposure. 

SF53 Positive Signs of Life

This is were the science of signing started and how we have progressed in transportation.  Through the early times there were many deaths due to automobile accidents which caused putting lights on cars to placing signs where they are visible.  

SF54 Process Safety for the Hard Hat Crew

This video discusses accidents involving chemical facilities and how they have shut down whole towns and injured hundreds of people.  This video will help understand OSHA's process safety management standard.  This video spells out contract employee responsibility in meeting this standard.  Topics covered: 1) applying the process safety management standard, 2) required training, and 3) handling emergencies and accidents.

SF56 Safety Features for Local Roads and Streets: Part 1

This video discusses wet weather driving and its hazards.  Whether these accidents are caused by smooth tires, driver neglect, or inadequate roads, these problems can be dramatically decreased if all areas work together.  This video will prompt highway authorities to increase efforts to identify and correct the more hazardous locations of their road systems during rain.

SF57 Safety Features for Local Roads and Streets: Part 2
Federal Highway Administration       60 Minutes

This video showed how traffic engineers are designing barriers to upon impact held the vehicle and run them down it, instead of jumping the guardrail or be thrown back into the traffic flow.  Their objective was to find the right ratio, of  the proper height of the barrier due to the down slope.  This video will show different test they performed in order to find new ways of designing proper barriers on downward slopes.

SF58 Safety Orientation: Don't be a Zombie

This video discusses that being awake and alert can prevent workplace accidents.  The presentation will discuss what dangers face employees everyday and how to be safe.  Topics include: personal protective equipment, HazCom, Bloodborne Pathogens, lockout/tagout, and fire safety.

SF59 Safety Orientation: It takes a Winning Attitude

This program uses an up-beat approach to safety.  This tape will give employees an overview of workplace safety.  It stresses how having a winning attitude and taking the proper steps to protect themselves will guarantee their safety in the workplace.  Some of the topics reviewed were personal protective equipment, back injuries, slips, trips, falls, hazard communication, bloodborne pathogens, and lockout/tagout.

SF60 Scissor Lifts in Construction

This video discusses how scissor lifts are used in construction sites.  They can provide a safe walking and working surface.  This program will teach workers what they need to know to operate them safely.  Topics covered 1) lifting principles, 2) walk around inspections, 3) controls, 4) electricity, and 5) operation.

This video has a message for all those who work with heavy machinery and common shop tools.  It is primarily aimed at operators and mechanics.  Realistic accidents, selected with help from the National Safety Council, make the video's warning loud and clear.  Utilizes both lecture and demonstration instructional format.

This video will give the skid steer loader operator more ways to learn safety while running this form of equipment.  It discusses preventive maintenance programs on how to see if the machine is mechanically ready to be operated.  The video demonstrates different techniques of safety while performing a number of different jobs.

To pass or not to pass are decisions that drivers make daily.  If  the wrong decision is made they could jeopardize everyone in the general area and possibly cause death.  This tape will demonstrate how people make split second decisions and how to avoid potential dangerous situations if the wrong decision was made.

SF64 Substance Abuse: Is it our Problem

Substance abuse at the work place is a major problem.  Many people today are addicted to alcohol and drugs.  This causes more time lost at work and more accidents and injuries.  Substance abuse and drug abuse happens at all levels of employment.  This tape will help show how to identify these problems and demonstrate effective solutions.

SF68 Traffic Safety Series

This video will explain how bald times, driver fatigue, and dust can hinder a drivers response during an emergency.  It will also discuss pre-crash, crash, post-crash.  The goal through this presentation is to improve the highway safety program; so that hazardous locations are eliminated.

This video will demonstrate what to look for if someone is experiencing trauma and what can be done to assist the person until proper help arrives.

This video discusses the importance of signs and labels and why they are posted.  This program will help employees get the message by explaining the sign system on your work site.  Topics covered: 1) labels, signs, and tags, 2) hazcom labeling requirements, and 3) labeling systems.

According to the Bureau of labor statistics homicide is the second leading cause of death in the workplace.  These kind of violent acts cost the economy over 4 billion dollars a year.  This video was designed for agencies to implement a prevention program to combat all kinds of work place violence.  Topics covered: 1) awareness, 2) understanding warning signs, 3) prevention, 4) need assessments, and 5) polices procedures.

SF73 Workzone Safety for Rural Roads

This tape dealt with how to properly set up work zones on rural roads.  The video demonstrates the importance of having proper signage out and having it set up the proper distances so that on coming traffic will have enough time to respond to obstacles they may incur. 

SF74 Zone Safety Concept

This tape deals with work zone safety concepts.  It will demonstrate the importance of setting out the proper signage and equipment involved in workzones.  Drivers see workzones as impediments and don't understand their importance related to safety to them and or the workers.
