HE01 80 foot Pole Trailer
Arizona Department of Transportation       24 Minutes

This video explains the importance of safety when pulling an 80ft. Pole trailer loaded.  This is a retractable trailer with electrical brakes that do not work when the trailer is disconnected.  The trailer is equipped with a safety break away device.

HE02 Air Compressor Operation
Utah Department of Transportation       19 Minutes

This video explains that PM-A of compressors is important because in order to efficiently complete job tasks, an air compressor needs to run properly.  Jack hammers are used on different jobs both in winter and summer.

Tape One (20 Minutes): The video explains that loaders are the hardest worked pieces of equipment in highway maintenance and discusses pre-trip inspections, start-up procedures, some of the loader controls, and shut-down procedures at the end of the day.
Tape Two (15 Minutes): This video explains why skilled operators are better for the agencies.  This video also discusses maneuvering of a loader, and different operations that a loaders can perform.

This video explains that the push truck striper has neutral, forward and reverse gears and  will hook up to the back of 4R300 hydrostatic cart.  It is designed for one operator and after warm up the idle speed will be set to full to remove stripes.

South Dakota Department of Transportation       15 Minutes

This video explains the two types of distributors (self-propelled and pulled units) and the importance of proper walk around inspections as it is the operators job to check the vehicle daily for maintenance defects.  Look, listen, and feel for potential safety problems.

HE56 Tow-Type Sweeper Operation and PM-A
Utah Department of Transportation       25 Minutes

This video describes this sweeper as an air cooled Wisconsin motor bolted on a steel frame with a 7'-8' wide brush that will cover a lot of roadway if ran properly.  Always, perform a walk around inspection, check engine, grease if needed, check brush, and tension/alignment of chain.  The operating portion shows start-up & hook-up, sweeping, and shutdown.

HE61 "Winch, Auger, Bucket Operation Trucks"
Utah Department of Transportation       28 Minutes

These trucks perform 3 major functions: lifting objects, digging holes, and carrying load.  These operations depend on the boom which can be moved up and down and side to side.  Riggers should be placed on the ground before work is started.
